MOVIE WEEK: War Horse billboards...
One of the best thing about the billboards for War Horse is the beautiful use of rich colour in the creatives which really helps the ads to pop.
Based on the original 1982 children's novel by Michael Morpurgo and the subsequent stage play of the same name, this Steven Spielberg directed drama set in World War I should stir some emotions this festive season.
The film follows the special friendship between an English young man named 'Albert' (Jeremy Irvine) and his horse 'Joey', who is sold to the British cavalry and ends up in the trenches of wartime France. Too young to enlist, Albert travels overseas to save his friend.
This striking, super-sized billboard snapped along L.A.'s Sunset Plaza on December 2, certainly evokes that special bond between boy and horse and really stands out from afar.
The small creative with the boy and horse was photographed along Santa Monica Boulevard at Robertson Boulevard, whilst the small creative with the horse on its own was snapped along Beverly Boulevard on November 29, 2011.
Daily Billboard also spied this other giant version along Wilshire Boulevard in Westwood. Unfortunately with the low winter sun at this time of year it's hard to get a perfect shot without the surrounding buildings shadows obscuring the view.
If you're a fan of horses, be sure to also check out Disney's Secretariat movie billboard from September 2010.
UPDATED: Here's another standard landscape billboard for the movie, snapped at the corner of Melrose and Highland Avenues on December 20, 2011.
Plus check out these original costumes worn by Emily Watson, Jeremy Irvine and Tom Hiddleston in War Horse on display.
UPDATED: War Horse is nominated for six Academy Awards this year and this atmospheric Oscar consideration billboard was snapped along Santa Monica Boulevard at Westwood Boulevard on February 14, 2012.
