As we welcome in another year of billboards, it's time to reflect on the past year's outdoor advertising achievements and announce the winners of the second ever BAB Awards for 2011.

The winner of the BAB Award for movies in 2011 was this vibrant, eye-catching and impossible-to-miss campaign for Kung Fu Panda 2, which kicked aside all competition to grab the coveted top spot.

Other noteworthy movie ad campaigns include the billboards for Crazy Stupid Love which captured the spirit of the romantic comedy and Green Lantern's superheroic sci-fi billboards.

Whitney Cummings avoided the curse of having dull, generic billboards for her self-titled sitcom with this hilarious series of ads with their clever and eye-catching straplines.

Whitney receives the BAB Award for Best TV Billboard and edges out the likes of American Horror Story, Revenge and My Little Pony's Bridemaids parody.

Banana Republic would also be a close second with its fashionably festive holidays billboard campaign and CK One's edgy Box billboards also stood out in 2011.

For his buff body of work for Michael Kors men's underwear billboards, Cory Bond steals the Male Model BAB crown from 2010's winner Kellan Lutz.

He beats off handsome competition from Sean O'Pry for Aldo Shoes and Andre Ziehe for 2(x)ist underwear billboards.

She beats off celebrities like The Help's Bryce Dallas Howard for Kate Spade New York and Transformers 3 star Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Burberry Body for top female face of 2011.

Other strong contenders in this category included Skyy Vodka's billboards and Heineken's fun beer ads.

Not only does the creative have amazing impact with and without the passenger mannequins hanging from the billboard, but it was also replicated in multiple locations around L.A. rather than solely in one high traffic area, sharing the excitement for lots of passersby.

This billboard beat off tough competition including the living billboard installation for Arthur Christmas, The Vampire Diaries season three beating heart billboard and not forgetting the illuminated headlights featured on the billboard for The Green Hornet at the start of 2011.

Wouldn't it be great if Harry Potter could go out on a cinematic high, not just enjoying blockbuster box office success, but finally to win a prestigious Academy Award for the film franchise grand finale.

That's what Warner Bros. Studios are hoping for anyway, and to coincide with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part two on Blu-ray, they are also kicking off their Oscar campaign around the streets of L.A. to capture the attention and imagination of all the Academy voters.

Daily Billboard especially likes this close-up of Harry's spectacles, where if you look through the lens the Harry Potter logo comes into focus and is not so blurry. It's small, but it's a nice design touch.

Maybe soon they'll have something to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving!

Fortunately you won't have to wait long, just watch the sixth annual Spike Scream Awards to discover this year's winners of the best in sci-fi, horror, comic book and fantasy on the big and small screen.

It's that special time of year again in Hollywoodland.

However, you may be invited like this billboard says, but unless you're a world class actor or have been nominated for one of 2010's movies, you're not going to get in to this year's Oscar awards ceremony. Luckily you can still see all the winners, and losers, on television.

This year Anne Hathaway and James Franco host the prestigious awards, and he's even nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role for 127 Hours.

Plus as a special bonus today, not only do you get the official Oscar billboard, but also this witty creative just before it for Bliss spa services at W hotels. 'Nobody likes a hairy Oscar', indeed.

These great billboards were snapped along Highland Avenue and at the Hollywood & Highland Center (where the Academy Awards are held at the Kodak Theatre) on February 11 and with the golden Oscar statue on February 26, 2011.

Alexander McQueen's spectacular Spring/Summer billboard featuring Raquel Zimmermann wreathed in colourful snakes has to be the most eye-catching fashion creative of 2010.

Other close contenders were the Levi's Curve ID billboard campaign and Aldo shoes funky new billboards.

The first ever recipient of the BAB for Best Male Model goes to Kellan Lutz for this Calvin Klein X underwear billboard.

The Twilight star beats off stiff (or should I say buff) competition from the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo for Emporio Armani, Clint Mauro for Armani Exchange and fellow Calvin Klein X underwear model, Fernando Verdasco.

The winner of the Best Female Model BAB Award goes to Charlotte Kemp Muhl for her revealing body of work for Sam Edelman shoes, which was certainly a jaw-dropping creative.

She takes the crown from beauties such as Eva Mendes for Calvin Klein and Irina Shayk for Armani Exchange.

The marketing campaign for Julia Roberts Eat Pray Love movie was fun, frivolous and totally reinforced the themes of the feel-good chick flick and is the deserving winner of the Best Movie BAB Award.

Eat Pray Love beat off tough competition from the eye-catching Megamind billboards, Skyline's spaceship billboard and Tron: Legacy's year long teaser billboard campaign.

This billboard for The Walking Dead television series is 2010's worthy winner, as the arresting imagery manages to perfectly convey the concept of an apocalyptic world without resorting to gory flesh-eating zombies.

Other nominees included The Big C's hourglass billboard, Glee's Sue Sylvester megaphone billboard and True Blood's Rehydrate season three teaser.

Other highly commended campaigns include Skyy Vodka for their vibrant billboard campaign in 2010 and Svedka Vodka's sexy robot creative.

This crashed jet-ski billboard for Jackass 3D movie wins the special Stunt BAB Award for creating a fantastic PR worthy spectacle along L.A.'s Sunset Strip, but also representing the film perfectly.

And that's it for 2010's BAB Award winners, let's hope 2011 will be as creatively fruitful.
