There's nothing like a huge billboard along L.A.'s Sunset Strip to help launch a new album or publicise a concert tour and Van Halen's ad for A Different Kind of Truth is a bold and arresting example.

Daily Billboard especially likes the industrial art deco imagery which makes a real refreshing difference from the majority of other billboards lining the streets of L.A. at the moment.

This super-sized billboard for the hard rock band was snapped on the side of the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood on February 10, 2012.

Jessica Simpson Zales diamond bathtub billboard...

They say diamonds are a girl's best friend, and it seems that Jessica Simpson simply can't get enough of them with her bathtub filled to the brim with the sparkling precious stones.

The ad for the Jessica Simpson Collection at Zales jewelers is certainly an attention grabber.

This bedazzling billboard was snapped at the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard in West Hollywood on January 30, 2012.

UPDATED: Who knew that Jessica Simpson liked lawn croquet (although she probably couldn't spell it). This garden party billboard for her own fashion line was snapped in the same site on May 5, 2012.

TV WEEK: The Voice season two billboards...

They're back, and apparently the best voice will rise in season two of The Voice.

Daily Billboard can't help but feel that the four 'coaches' themselves are the real winners in this reality talent contest though, as the show has certainly rekindled the careers and put the spotlight back on Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee-Lo Green and Blake Shelton.

There's a lot of pointing and victory signs in this second season billboard as the coaches choose their singers, and it makes for an impactful ad, full of energy.

These confident billboards illustrate that NBC are prepared to give the likes of American Idol and The X Factor a run for their money in the search for the next big singing sensation.

The landscape ad versions were snapped along Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue on January 14, whilst the portrait version (which is also available as a bus shelter poster) was captured along Fairfax Avenue on a gloomier January 21, 2012.

Usher Belvedere Vodka Believe in Giving billboards...

This festive season Usher is doing his bit for charity alongside Belvedere Vodka by supporting the (Product) Red initiative, which helps raise awareness and funds to fight AIDS in Africa.

So it's the same great vodka, but in a special edition bottle with added 'Usher' for extra smoothness and stand-out.

The super-sized 'Believe in Giving' billboard was snapped along L.A.'s Sunset Strip on November 2, followed by this smaller, squarer format photographed above Beverly Boulevard on November 16.

Meanwhile this landscape billboard was spied from Manhattan's High Line Park in New York on November 5, 2011.

Throat surgery aside, British singing and songwriting sensation Adele has had a pretty spectacular year.

It's great to see her enjoying success on both sides of the Atlantic and also gracing L.A.'s infamous Sunset Strip with this billboard for her concert at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall.

On a recent visit to New York Daily Billboard spied this fantastic collection of billboards for Rihanna's Reb'l Fleur fragrance.

When she's not busy singing, promoting Armani Jeans in sexy ads or looking natural for Vita Coco drinks billboards, it looks like Rihanna finds time to advertise her own line of products.

These celebrity perfume billboards were snapped along 7th Avenue and W 49th Street near New York's Times Square on November 6, 2011.

It wasn't that long ago that tennis ace, Rafael Nadal, was showing off his considerable 'ass'ets in this same location for Armani Jeans too.

Just a short week away and fans of the Kings of Leon will be rewarded with the rock band's warts-and-all documentary, Talihina Sky, on Showtime.

Maybe this frank, fly-on-the-wall film will help explain why the band cancelled the remainder of their Summer tour after a disastrous live concert in Dallas.

Fans of Rihanna will love the fact that the Barbados beauty can be found smiling down on the streets of L.A. this month.

The singer has collaborated with Vita Coco for a new Tropical Fruit flavour of the coconut water drink, leveraging Rihanna's Caribbean heritage.

The campaign is suitably tropical, with the R&B star looking much more natural and relaxed than some of her edgier onstage styles.

Grab your synthesizers, big hair and star-shaped earrings and get ready for some 80's nostalgia with this truly fabulous billboard to promote reruns of Jem and the Holograms on The Hub network.

These revolutionary style billboards for new reality talent contest, The Voice, really stand out around L.A.

Obviously it helps when the vibrant creative also sports recognisable, high-calibre music stars like Maroon 5's Adam Levine, pop diva Christina Aguilera, Grammy-winner Cee-Lo Green and country singer Blake Shelton.

Apparently these celebrities will be 'Coaches' and not 'Judges', on this latest imported show from Holland set to rival the powerhouse of American Idol, and help find America's next singing superstar.

Even if you didn't know who Marco Bosco was before, I'm sure after seeing these two billboards for the recording artist you'd be more intrigued to find out.

Maybe it has something to do with his perfect pecs and abs that catches your eye, or the interesting gladiator helmet he seems to be sporting that looks like something out of a sci-fi movie.

Both these attention grabbing music billboards were snapped along Sunset Boulevard on February 24, 2011.
