BONUS DAY: Visit Britain 2012 tourism billboards...

Heritage Great Britain billboard
Sometimes Daily Billboard feels extremely proud to be British and seeing this fantastic ad campaign around L.A. for Visit Britain is one such occasion.
Visit Britain Countryside billboard
The scenic billboards highlighting Great Britain's wealth of heritage, countryside and culture, with a flash of a Union Jack, really do provide a tempting incentive to cross the Atlantic.

The arresting 'Heritage is Great Britain' creative features Bodium Castle in East Sussex, England, whilst the 'Countryside is Great Britain' features a stunning shot of the Glenfinnan Viaduct in Scotland.
Meanwhile The British Museum in London and its wonderful architecture is the star of the 'Culture is Great Britain' ad.

These U.K. tourism billboards come at a much need time for Britain's economy, which just like the rest of the world is suffering from recession and a slow economic recovery.

The heavy-weight campaign seems to be all around the streets of Los Angeles from mid-April 2012, especially in the high traffic tourist areas of Hollywood & Highland and Sunset Boulevard (reaching locals and visitors alike), plus along Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard.

Disney's giant Aulani Hawaii resort billboard...

Disney Aulani Hawaii resort billboard
This fun and vibrant giant billboard for Disney's new Hawaiian resort, Aulani, really makes a big splash with a fantastically colourful creative.

Snapped on a beautifully clear day along L.A.'s Sunset Plaza on October 2, 2011, the super-sized billboard also stands out because this location usually features more entertainment ads, for movies and television shows, so it's literally a visual breath of fresh air.

Daily Billboard also likes how the tropical resort creative continues right to the very top of the building, which is normally reserved for a movie release date or the like, which gives the ad an added dimension.

Vancouver Aquarium jellyfish billboard...

Vancouver Aquarium jellyfish billboard
Daily Billboard recently took a trip to Vancouver, but was a bit dismayed to discover the lack of billboard ads compared to their sheer abundance in L.A. and New York.

However, of the few billboards scattered about the Canadian city this colourful creative for the Vancouver Aquarium stood out, especially with its 3D mounted jellyfish providing some extra visual interest.

This tourist attraction billboard was snapped near Granville Bridge in Vancouver, British Columbia on August 1, 2011.

Regardless of what floats your boat, this billboard for Nikki Beach: Las Vegas really does catch your eye as you pass by. The gorgeous model may be basking in the sunshine as she strikes a pose on that bucket of ice, but she must also be just a tad chilly too.

BONUS DAY: Virgin America Breath of fresh airline billboards...

Virgin America little glamour billboard
Daily Billboard is loving Virgin America's newest wave of billboard ads featuring clever copy and tongue-in-cheek characters.
Virgin America Breath of fresh airline billboard
This latest batch replace the recent copy only billboards which featured a prominent heavily branded Virgin airplane tail, which although witty were slightly duller and certainly less impactful.
Virgin America sit pretty billboard
The 'Little glamour goes a long way' creative was snapped along L.A.'s Santa Monica Boulevard on May 11, whilst the 'Breath of fresh airline' and 'Sit pretty' versions were photographed on opposite sides of the road at Mission & 6th Street in San Francisco on May 15.
Virgin America Windy City billboard
Interestingly enough, this 'Windy City' creative was replaced by the 'Little glamour' billboard in the same location about two weeks later, so it was either a teaser billboard or the client decided the campaign wasn't working hard enough for them without stronger visuals.

Daily Billboard still thinks the previous 2010 Virgin America ad campaign was the best with its bold, vibrant colours and eye-catching models.

These two other billboard versions were snapped along Highland Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard, respectively, on April 25, 2011.

Virgin America Don't stay billboard
With these fun billboards they are certainly taking on the stuffy old American airlines for supremacy in the air.

It's also nice to see an airline that can actually deliver on the promises in its advertising messages.

All three help to highlight the airline's (some would say superior) in-flight entertainment and telecommunications services.
Virgin America wish on demand billboard
Daily Billboard really does appreciate being able to access WiFi on board a plane, but there is also something to be said about being able to switch off and take a break on occasion too.

TRIO DAY: Just the right amount of wrong Cosmopolitan Las Vegas billboard...

Right amount of wrong Cosmopolitan hotel billboard
Ever since it debuted at the end of 2010, Daily Billboard has been loving this cheeky campaign for The Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas.
Cosmopolitan hotel Las Vegas billboard
Their slogan may be 'Just the right amount of wrong', but it's exactly the right amount of wit and levity to make you smile when you see these fun creatives.
Cosmopolitan hotel porter billboard
I can't imagine that the hotel really does allow guests, or their staff, to walk around without their trousers though, no matter how pert their buttocks are.
Just the right amount of wrong billboard
The new hotel on the Las Vegas Strip is obviously looking to attract a certain kind of fun loving clientele with a sense of humour, let's hope their ads don't draw the wrong crowd.
