MOVIE WEEK: The Dark Knight Rises billboard...

There's nothing like a little bit of a tease to start another MOVIE WEEK here at Daily Billboard.

Has it really been four years already since The Dark Knight's record-breaking box office performance in 2008?

This seems like a slightly odd image for a movie sequel called The Dark Knight Rises, as with Batman villain 'Bane' walking away from a shattered Bat-Cowl it looks more like The Dark Knight Defeated.

But then the tag line does read 'The Legend Ends', although Daily Billboard is confident Gotham's Caped Crusader will be rising from the ashes like a phoenix by movie's end.

This intriguing movie billboard was snapped at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank on March 3, 2012 and should get all Batfans excited.

The Avengers giant movie billboard...

"And there came a day, unlike any other, when Earth's mightiest heroes found themselves united against a common threat. On that day The Avengers were born - to fight the foes no single hero could withstand."

How amazing is this giant-sized billboard for Marvel's The Avengers, snapped along L.A.'s Sunset Plaza on March 26, 2012.

Following the big screen successes of Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, Marvel has assembled their premier team of heroes for their biggest blockbuster outing to date.

Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans heroic alter-egos unite with Scarlett Johansson's 'Black Widow', Jeremy Renner's 'Hawkeye', Samuel L. Jackson's 'Nick Fury' and Mark Ruffalo's 'Incredible Hulk' for what looks like an action-packed superhero extravaganza. Giant Avengers movie billboard

Daily Billboard thinks Marvel has done a brilliant job of showcasing all the Avengers in this super-sized billboard, with the charismatic armoured Avenger, Iron Man (already having proving his star power in two of his own movies), leading the charge.

They've certainly dialed the excitement level to high with this image, especially if you're a comic book fan. Daily Billboard also really loves the use of the Avengers 'A' symbol in the May 4 release date.

UPDATED: As much as Daily Billboard loves seeing Robert Downey Jr.'s face, it's nice to see Iron Man fully suited up, with his helmet on and his repulsors ready for action.

This dynamic looking billboard sees the armoured Avenger team-up with the green goliath, The Incredible Hulk, and was snapped along Santa Monica Boulevard near Westwood Boulevard on April 1, 2012.

First up is the star-spangled Avenger, Captain America, and the mighty Asgardian, Thor snapped along Highland Avenue.

Plus a larger version featuring the two Avengers at La Cienega Boulevard and West Olympic Boulevard.

Next is super-spy Black Widow and Thor standing guard over Hollywood Boulevard above the El Capitan Theatre.

TV WEEK: The Aquabats Super Show billboard...

Just like when Adult Swim debuts a new creative, Daily Billboard also really looks forward to seeing the latest advert for The Hub channel.

They are often special extension formats and the fun kids programming often makes for colorful, inventive and witty billboards, like this example for The Aquabats! Super Show!

'The Aquabats' are a superhero through-back to the campy 60's Batman TV show and are apparently the first all-crime fighting, all-surfing rock supergroup in history - defenders of justice, fighters of evil and destroyers of boredom. What more could you want from a TV show?

This superheroic billboard was snapped along Caheunga Boulevard at the bottom of Barham Boulevard on March 7, 2012.

MOVIE WEEK: Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance billboards...

Ghost Rider, the darkest hero rides again, trying desperately to vindicate his first cinematic outing.

Fortunately these spectacular billboards zooming onto the scene in L.A. are a great way to get everyone excited about the Spirit of Vengeance movie sequel.

With his blazing skull and flaming motorcycle, Marvel's supernatural biker hero lends himself to great visual impact.

These special extension billboards certainly stand out from afar, at street level or in the skies above.

One thing is interesting though, they've chosen not to give Nicolas Cage top billing on these billboards.

Regardless, these Ghost Rider 2 movie billboards still look totally cool.

These eye-catching ads were snapped dominating the skies of L.A. on January 25, 2012 along Wilshire Boulevard, La Cienega Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Boulevard and 3rd Street, to name but a few.

TRIO DAY: Batman Arkham City video game billboards...

'Holy Smokes, Batman' that's an impressive set of billboards for your new video game.

By the looks of it Batman Arkham City is a hit with critics and game players alike and to garner even more attention for the Christmas gift-giving season these giant billboards featuring the iconic Dark Knight, 'Batman', and his arch-nemesis, 'The Joker', have appeared along the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.

This mono ad campaign with hints of sinister green and a subtle dash of red really make a spectacular impact.

The Joker and Batman '10 out of 10' review version was snapped on the side of Madame Tussauds Hollywood on December 3, whilst the standard landscape version with Batman watching over the city, was also photographed months earlier along Hollywood Boulevard on October 12, 2011.

The arresting super-sized billboards on the side of the Sunset Towers building were captured on December 5, 2011.

MOVIE WEEK: The Adventures of Tintin billboards...

In addition to War Horse, Steven Spielberg has another big movie coming out at Christmas, this animated one based on Hergé's popular comic book character, 'Tintin'.

Daily Billboard has already featured a fantastic seaplane billboard for the Tintin movie, but here are some other action-packed creatives from around the streets of L.A.

The eye-catching motorcycle and sidecar and 'Unicorn' ship special extension billboards were both snapped along Ventura Boulevard in Studio City on November 30.

This other standard landscape billboard was photographed along Sunset Boulevard at Larrabee Street.

Meanwhile this super-sized billboard along Wilshire Boulevard is a real spectacle and really makes an impact and was photographed on December 2, 2011.

Jamie Bell voices the computer-generated Tintin, and Peter Jackson joins Director Steven Spielberg as Producer to attract audiences this festive season, which looks set to be a battle royal at the box office.

Can the plucky Belgian reporter and his faithful dog 'Snowy' compete for audiences with the likes of Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, The Darkest Hour, War Horse, Sherlock Holmes 2, We Bought a Zoo, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Alvin and the Chipmunks 3, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol and New Year's Eve all opening this December.

By the looks of things, with this abundance of different billboards for The Adventures of Tintin the studio certainly are going to try their hardest to get butts in seats.

Some billboards just have amazing stand-out and make you go "Wow!", and that's certainly true of this special extension seaplane billboard for The Adventures of Tintin.

This eye-catching billboard certainly gets you excited for the new animation movie based on Belgian artist Hergé's popular character, 'Tintin' (not to mention his loyal dog 'Snowy' and 'Captain Haddock').

Master filmmakers Stephen Spielberg and Peter Jackson bring this treasure hunt to discover The Secret of the Unicorn to the big screen.
