MOVIE WEEK: Bumblebee and Shockwave Transformers 3 billboards...
There's nothing like some giant robots-in-disguise to kick off another MOVIE WEEK here at Daily Billboard.
Autobots leader Optimus Prime has already had his chance to shine, so now it's the turn of lovable Bumblebee and evil Decepticon, Shockwave.
Even though these Transformers: Dark of the Moon billboards look pretty cool lining the skies of L.A., Daily Billboard can't help but feel we saw a similar campaign for the last Transformers movie in 2009, only this time the backdrop is much more of a war zone.
Also, what is it with movie studios not feeling the need to name their movies in their advertising these days? Sure it makes for great visuals, but there's an assumption that every passerby will automatically know about the film without any details.
This cool billboard for the third movie's new villain, Shockwave, was snapped along San Vicente Boulevard and Orange Grove Avenue on June 21, 2011.
Meanwhile this giant Bumblebee creative was snapped towering over Sunset Boulevard on the side of the 9000 building, whilst the smaller billboards for the fan-favourite Autobot was photographed along La Cienega and Wilshire Boulevards in L.A. on June 14, 2011.
If you're a fan, be sure to check out these original costumes from Transformers: Dark of the Moon on display and Optimus Prime's truck and Bumblebee's 2012 Camaro from Transformers 3.
UPDATED: Here's a special treat with a bit of an international flavour, courtesy of those clever people at the Create Team at Clear Channel UK, of a special Transformers: Dark of the Moon build along London's busy Cromwell Road. Impressive and eye-catching to say the least.
