Universal Studios King Kong 3D billboard installation...
Oh, happy days. Daily Billboard just loves it when there's a bit of drama in the skies of Hollywoodland.
Especially when that drama is the giant gorilla hand of King Kong, reaching out to pluck an unsuspecting Universal Studios Tour tram without a care if its passengers go flying in all directions.
Daily Billboard captured this fantastic King Kong 3D ride billboard in two locations, along South La Brea Avenue near West 6th Street and along L.A.'s infamous Sunset Strip at the top of La Cienega Boulevard on June 14, 2011.
The billboard installation is a real eye-catcher, made even more so by the two mannequins dangling from the tram and casting shadows over the rest of the billboard - now that's 3D.
A standard version of the billboard, without the mannequins but just as impactful, was also snapped along La Cienega Boulevard.
If you're a fan of the ride at Universal Studios Hollywood, be sure to check out Universal's King Kong attraction billboard from 2010.
If you like this kind of billboard stunt, you'll also want to check out the Jackass 3D movie crashed jet ski billboard installation from October 2010.
Could this be another early contender for the BABs (Best Advertising Billboard Awards) next year? Only time will tell. Let's see what the rest of 2011 has to offer in terms of originality and spectacle.
UPDATED: This other cool King Kong creative was snapped at Madame Tussauds Hollywood on July 19.
Plus this Coca-Cola promotion billboard for Universal Studios looks pretty impressive bursting out the side of the Hollywood & Vine Lofts. It's the perfect location to catch the attention of passing tourists and was photographed on July 24, 2011.
