BONUS DAY: 21 Jump Street movie remake billboards...
So it looks like Hollywoodland didn't learn any lessons last year with all the remakes hitting the big screen like Fright Night, Conan the Barbarian, The Thing, The Three Musketeers (need we continue?), but at least 21 Jump Street is a TV show making its cinematic debut, rather than simply a film being remade.
Mind you, it didn't work out that well for The Dukes of Hazzard, Starsky & Hutch or The A-Team, but maybe this undercover cops-in-high school action comedy will succeed where others have failed.
Of course it helps knowing that this television series has a great pedigree and is what launched Johnny Depp on his road to superstardom, and that Jonah Hill is just coming off a Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for his part in Moneyball (plus some pretty awesome weight loss).
His co-star Channing Tatum isn't having a bad year either, with the romantic drama The Vow already out this year, plus coming soon the G.I. Joe sequel and Magic Mike, based on the actor's experiences as a male stripper in Tampa, Florida when he was nineteen.
These billboards capture the fun, youthful spirit of the movie, yet still retain that buddy cop movie feel about them too.
The movie ads in all their various formats and creatives were snapped all over L.A. from the last week of February to the beginning of March 2012.
In particular the large portrait creatives were snapped along Highland Avenue and at Sunset & Vine in Hollywood.
