TRIO DAY: The Hunger Games movie billboards...
The world will indeed be watching when The Hunger Games arrives on the big screen, aside from fans of Suzanne Collins novels, everyone else will we waiting to see if the sci-fi franchise is a worthy successor to Harry Potter and The Twilight Saga crown.
Already flexing her fantasy credentials as 'Mystique' in X-Men: First Class and garnering an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Winter's Bone, Jennifer Lawrence brings The Hunger Games heroine, 'Katniss Everdeen', to life.
In this futuristic take on Lord of the Flies (and maybe the more gruesome than Japan's Battle Royale), Katniss volunteers to fight to the death on live television to save her sister, against children who have trained their whole life for this combat.
Looks like she's opted for the bow and arrow to defend herself, which makes for some pretty cool billboard visuals, usually reserved for the likes of Robin Hood and Tolkien's Elves.
These arresting movie billboards were snapped along Melrose Avenue at Fairfax Avenue and Highland Avenue on February 29, whilst the smaller 'Mockingjay' versions were photographed along La Brea Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard on March 1, 2012.
Let the fun and 'games' begin.
